Outstanding corrosion performance

Outstanding corrosion performance

Superior resistance to corrosion

The chemical compositions of the N'GENIUS Series™ of High Strength Austenitic Stainless Steels are strictly controlled to ensure that the optimum balance is obtained between the austenite and the ferrite forming elements, to ensure that the various Alloy Types, Variants and Alloy Classifications contain an austenitic microstructure.

The N'GENIUS Series™ is also specified and formulated to achieve distinct minimum pitting resistance equivalent (PREN or PRENW) values for each of the alloys.

As a result, the N'GENIUS Series™ possesses superior corrosion resistance in a wide range of process environments when compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels.

Corrosion Performance
Localised Corrosion Resistance

The N'GENIUS Series™ has significantly improved localised corrosion resistance (Pitting, Crevice, Intergranular and Microbially Induced Corrosion) and can be specified and utilised in a wide range of service conditions and process media environments.

General Corrosion Resistance

The N'GENIUS Series™ has significantly improved general corrosion performance and can be specified and utilised in a wide range of service conditions and chemical process media environments.

Erosion Corrosion

The N'GENIUS Series™ possesses improved resistance to erosion corrosion associated with the inherent higher levels of its hardness properties and higher alloying element content when compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels.

Stress Corrosion Cracking

The N'GENIUS Series™ has improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking in certain chloride containing environments when compared to conventional austenitic stainless steels.

Furthermore, as the alloying element content is increased for the various high-alloyed grades of the N'GENIUS Series™, this leads to an improvement in the resistance to stress corrosion cracking in more aggressive and harsher process media environments containing specific levels of chlorides, CO2 or H2S.
