The N'GENIUS SeriesTM is the most advanced family of materials for chemical processing infrastructure.
Conventional 300 Series austenitic stainless steels are widely used in the chemical processing industry, but their resistance to general corrosion, localised corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and erosion corrosion depends on many factors including:
- Alloy composition of the grade(s) selected for the different types of chemical process media
- Concentration of the various chemical process media
- Whether the chemical process media contains chlorides or fluorides or various impurities
- Temperature of the chemical process media.
What's more, conventional 300 Series grades of austenitic stainless steels have low mechanical strength properties relative to the N'GENIUS SeriesTM.
Therefore, when piping systems (pipes, fittings and flanges) and engineering equipment (including tanks, vessels, pumps, valves, filters, centrifuges, mixers and agitators) are designed in accordance with the various international codes, standards and specifications using conventional austenitic stainless steels, their wall thicknesses are increased, which in turn increases the overall cost of projects.
